Not quite what I was expecting - considering her support of an assassination, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that not only Emma but the other writers in this volume speak passionately, and sometimes, in their passion, don't follow through on their logical arguments as I might have expected. I've never read propaganda literature prior to this so I can't make a comparison. But I found much of the discussion could be contemporary - we haven't come that far (or we've regressed). There are no calls for violence in these writings that I found and what struck me was Emma's call for women feminists to be more balanced and unbound - and not so uptight. I think as a peek into this time and the anarchist movement / feminism movement it certainly was worth the free download!Product details

Mother Earth Vol 1 No 1 March 1906 Various 9781545154182 Books Reviews
Emma Goldman's straightforward, pointed words on gender equality were and still are ahead of her time. It's hard to believe it was written over a century ago. Goldman offers inspired thoughts on free speech, birth control, women's rights and independence. A true revolutionary hero.
